Z (Part II Autumn 1939 – Spring 1940)

After the summer Z, concerned about his situation in Braunschweig, started to write home more often. At the hospital he felt secure and was assured that he would be treated just as any other working there.

Their work was surpassing every objective and they focused on new discoveries related to the muscular tissues recovery. But as almost everyone else there, the sense of displacement was growing at a pace he could no longer bare.

Going to Karlsruhe opened the possibility to escape home through the Ardennes forest. I prepared the escape with the help of Joseph and Dr. S v K. They knew an officer there that showed me when and how I should do it.
